Through the years they expanded to numerous tree lots around town. And twice they've had trees in the White House. This year they've consolidated their operations to one lot at the intersection of Rogers Road and Franklin Street in Wake Forest. When Johnson thought of the name -and the ghost tale that accompanies it - he knew nobody would ever forget it. "A lot of customers over the years told me they got a good laugh at the sign and that's what made them turn around and come in," he said. "It's been 41 years and the magic's still there. A lot of repeat customers are now friends and we've watched a lot of kids grow up. Of course when you offer cider, cookies and a little bit of mystique they always ask to come back."
