Greg Taylor photographed at the Johnston Correctional Institute in Smithfield on Monday, September 21, 2009. Taylor has been locked up for 16 years for a murder he didn't commit. The North Carolina Innocence Inquiry Commission voted unanimously on Sept. 4, 2009 that they believed Taylor to be innocent. His case will now move on to a three-judge panel to be convened by the chief of the State Supreme Court. Wake County District Attorney Colon Willoughby can contest Taylor's request to be exonerated. Willoughby could also petition the court to vacate Taylor's sentence even before the panel convenes.\nSHAWN ROCCO\nshawn.rocco@newsobserver.com
